The 128 chapters of the novel are arranged without chronological order, creating the sense of living inside an aging poet`s consciousness. We see Frost as a failed farmer (and father) in 1902, then travel with him on his bizarre trip to Russia to meet with Khrushchev in the days of the Cuban Missile Crisis.
